The Brexit divorce proceedings begin with Prime Minister Theresa May informing the European Union of the U.K’s intention to leave after 44 years of partnership.

1983 :

Erno Rubik was granted a patent for his Magic Cube.

1979 :

The Committee on Assassinations Report issued by U.S. House of Representatives stated that the assassination of President John F. Kennedy was the result of a conspiracy.


The British Parliament passed the North America Act, which provided for the union of three colonies — the Province of Canada (Ontario and Québec), Nova Scotia and New Brunswick — into a federal state with a parliamentary system modelled on that of Britain.


The Test Act, excluding Catholics from holding public office, receives royal assent.

1638 :

First permanent European settlement in Delaware USA, was established.
